Job Description
We are recruiting a Homeless Hostel Support Worker to join a supported housing service in Bridgend, Bridgend. This is a hands-on, people-focused role where you’ll help create a safe, structured environment and provide day-to-day support to individuals experiencing homelessness and related challenges.

You’ll work as part of a wider staff team, supporting residents to maintain stability, access services, and move forward with practical goals—while ensuring the hostel runs smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities
As a Homeless Hostel Support Worker based in Bridgend, your daily duties will include:

• Supporting residents to follow service expectations, boundaries, and house rules in a fair and consistent way
• Providing practical and emotional support, using an empathetic, trauma-informed approach
• Monitoring the environment to maintain safety, including responding appropriately to incidents and concerns
• Explaining and reinforcing health & safety procedures and maintaining a safe communal setting
• Communicating professionally with partner agencies (e.g., housing teams and support services) to help meet residents’ needs
• Promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all interactions and decision-making
• Delivering high standards of customer care, recording key information accurately where required

Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Homeless Hostel Support Worker, you will need:

• A strong values-led approach with a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable adults
• Relevant experience in social care, supported housing, homelessness, or a similar environment (desirable, but not essential if you can demonstrate the right approach)
• A willingness to complete required compliance (e.g., Enhanced DBS Check and safeguarding expectations)
