Job Description:
We are seeking dedicated Housing Support Workers to join a leading specialist provider in Cardiff. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on individuals experiencing mental health challenges. As a Housing Support Worker in Cardiff, you will provide vital emotional, practical, and social support to clients, helping them achieve greater independence and wellbeing. The position is flexible, with options for part-time, full-time, temporary, or temp-to-perm hours, and immediate starts are available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to discuss their feelings and experiences.
  • Provide reassurance, active listening, and encouragement to promote self-esteem and confidence.
  • Assist clients with daily tasks such as cooking, shopping, attending appointments, and medication routines.
  • Support clients in managing finances, benefits, and bills.
  • Help implement individual recovery or care plans in collaboration with mental health professionals.
  • Encourage social inclusion by facilitating access to community activities, education, volunteering, or employment.
  • Identify early signs of deterioration or relapse and respond promptly to prevent crises.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures to ensure the safety of clients and others.

Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of experience working within a social care setting.
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Possess the right to work in the UK.
  • A full UK driving licence is preferred.
