Job Title: Children’s Support Worker (Homeless Support Worker)
Location: Cathays, Bridgend, Wales, United Kingdom
Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Job Description:
Are you an experienced Children’s Support Worker or Homeless Support Worker looking for a new opportunity in the homeless sector? We are recruiting Children’s Support Worker roles for flexible, ongoing work across homeless hostels in Cathays, Bridgend and the surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities:
- Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests as a Children’s Support Worker
- Promote independence and wellbeing in your role as a Children’s Support Worker
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children and young people
- Support weekend and evening activities, ranging from in-house activities to trips away
- Protect children and young people from risks to health and welfare
- Provide emotional and practical support within the home environment
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
- Support, overcome, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
Requirements:
- A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient approach
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
- Restraint trained (or willing to undergo the 3-day course)
- Valid UK driving licence (required)
- TMVA / Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to complete training)
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
