Job Description:
Our client, a leading specialist provider, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a secondary school in Aberdare. This full-time, long-term role offers an exciting opportunity to work with learners in Key Stage 3 and 4, including GCSE classes. The successful candidate will be expected to start immediately and contribute to the school’s educational excellence until at least the end of the summer term 2026, with potential for extension into September. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a classroom of learners in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Prepare classrooms and plan schemes of work where required.
- Deliver engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
- Incorporate both classroom and lab-based activities to enhance learning.
- Manage behaviour in accordance with the school’s policies.
- Support learners to achieve their academic potential.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of Humanities teaching experience (exceptions for NQTs).
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent.
- Registration as a Teacher with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – assistance available.
- References covering the last two years (no gaps).
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
