Job Description:
Our client, a leading specialist provider, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a secondary school in Aberdare. This full-time, long-term role offers an exciting opportunity to work with learners in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including GCSE classes. The successful candidate will be expected to start immediately and contribute to the school’s educational excellence until at least the end of the summer term 2027, with potential for extension into September. Key Responsibilities:
As a Humanities Teacher based in Aberdare, your daily duties will include:
- Leading a classroom of learners in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Preparing classrooms and planning schemes of work where required.
- Delivering engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
- Incorporating both classroom and lab-based activities to enhance learning.
- Managing behaviour in accordance with the school’s policies.
- Supporting learners to achieve their academic potential.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Humanities Teacher, you will need:
- At least 1 year of Humanities teaching experience (exceptions for NQTs).
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent.
- Registration as a Teacher with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – assistance available.
- References covering the last two years (no gaps).
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
