Learning Disability Support Worker (waking nights)

I am actively seeking experienced Learning Disability Support Workers in Caerleon. The shifts at this service would be waking nights 10pm-8am. The service supports those with learning and mobility difficulties with personal care, medication administration, food preparation, and community access.

Overview:

• Title: Adults Learning Disability Support Worker 
• Location: Caerleon
• Job Type: Temporary / temp to perm 
• Immediate starts available
• Pay: £13.68 p/h (inclusive of holidays)
• A full UK driving license is preferred, but not essential 
• Must have a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• ???????A practical manual handling certificate or be willing to attend one of our courses at a subsidised cost

The role: 

What you’ll be doing as a Support Worker:

You will provide therapeutic care and support to patients with autistic spectrum conditions and associated complex needs, including observing, monitoring, and keeping a record of patient conditions, treating each person with dignity, compassion, and honesty. You will be helping with their Progression through a care pathway to live as independently as possible. You will have the support of a team of multi-professionals. 

The candidate: 

What you’ll need to be successful as a Support Worker:

• A desire to create positive outcomes for adults with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health 

• Empathetic, caring and resilient nature

• At least 6 months of experience working within a social care setting

• Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or are willing to obtain one

• The right to work in the UK
