Job Description:
Our client, a welcoming primary school in Chester, is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a positive learning environment and support children’s educational and emotional development.


Key Responsibilities:
As a Learning Support Assistant based in Chester, your daily duties will include:

  • Supporting teachers in preparing and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Assisting individuals and small groups with learning activities.
  • Providing feedback on pupil engagement and progress.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Preparing and utilising learning materials, including ICT resources.
  • Helping to create stimulating classroom displays.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Learning Support Assistant, you will need:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) OR the ability to meet STL Level 2 National Occupational Standards.
  • Previous experience supporting teaching and learning in a school setting.
  • Understanding of child protection and health & safety procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students.
