Job Description:
A leading specialist provider is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their school in Pontypridd. The successful candidate will work closely with children across all age groups, delivering targeted wellbeing interventions and contributing to an inclusive, anti-racist school environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted wellbeing interventions to support emotional literacy and resilience among pupils.
- Work with pupils individually and in small groups to promote emotional and social development.
- Track and analyse pupil data, in collaboration with the ALNCo, to monitor progress and inform support strategies.
- Support children’s learning across the school, both in class and through intervention work.
- Assist with planning and preparing resources for wellbeing and intervention sessions.
- Provide classroom support or emergency cover when required.
- Promote inclusivity and demonstrate sensitivity to pupils’ diverse backgrounds.
- Contribute to the school’s anti-racism and wider equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues, and families.
- Participate in school events and enrichment activities.
Requirements:
- Experience as an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) is desirable but not essential.
- Strong commitment to supporting pupils’ emotional and social development.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility, proactivity, and a caring approach to supporting children.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- A genuine commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and anti-racist practices.
