Job Description:

Our client, a leading specialist provider of educational staffing, is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join a busy school in Tonteg, Pontypridd. This full-time, long-term role offers an exciting opportunity to work within the Foundation Phase, helping to nurture and develop early years' education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated classroom support to teachers within the Foundation Phase
  • Assist in creating an inclusive, engaging, and positive learning environment
  • Support individual students and small groups to enhance their literacy and numeracy skills
  • Be familiar with Read Write Ink programmes to aid literacy development
  • Collaborate effectively with the class teacher to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Encourage and promote positive behaviour and social skills
  • Support the overall wellbeing and development of pupils

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
  • Experience working with primary school children, ideally within the Foundation Phase
  • Familiarity with Read Write Ink or similar literacy programmes
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Passionate about supporting young children's educational journey
  • Reliable, proactive, and adaptable to a dynamic school environment
