You'll be working across our client's Young People services in Gwent, focusing on young people who have been identified as being affected by domestic abuse, are at risk, or are displaying emerging abusive behaviours.
This is a specialist role combining individual support, comprehensive group work, and early intervention/prevention strategies. You'll be a key resource, delivering trauma-informed support and guidance to both young people and local staff teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Service Delivery & Impact
- Group Work: Design and deliver engaging group sessions like 'New Beginnings,' 'ADAPT,' 'PACCE,' and bespoke workshops. You'll use active learning to challenge thinking and build understanding of healthy relationships and resilience.
- Specialist 1:1 Support: Provide trauma-informed one-to-one support, helping young people recognise unhealthy relationship dynamics and build upon their strengths to plan an abuse-free future.
- Safety & Risk: Conduct thorough risk assessments, risk management plans, and personalised safety plans, ensuring all safeguarding concerns are immediately reported.
- Collaboration: Work in partnership with local support workers to ensure targeted, individualised support and provide specialist advice and guidance on domestic abuse issues, facilitating safe onward referrals.
- Prevention: Champion early intervention by identifying localised needs/trends (e.g., sexting/exploitation) and responding with targeted workshops.
- Youth-Led Innovation: Actively champion young people as experts, ensuring they are involved in shaping, designing, and delivering services, continuously gathering feedback to maximise impact.
On-Call & Flexibility

On Call: You'll be part of the first tier on-call rota (approx. 1 in 8 weeks), providing essential telephone and in-person support and advice to colleagues, which may occasionally require out-of-hours project attendance/shift cover for emergencies.
Flexibility: You'll work flexible hours, including meeting young people in suitable, safe locations like their residence, place of work, or educational establishment, and occasionally working weekends or bank holidays to meet service needs.

Integrity: Act professionally at all times, adhering strictly to our client's policies on confidentiality, safeguarding boundaries, and anti-discriminatory practice.
Administration: Manage the referral process from our client's Young People services, complete initial visits, ensure all support notes and case management are accurately logged on electronic databases, and manage all group work requests and evaluations.
