The Opportunity
We are actively recruiting for skilled and patient Mathematics Teachers to join secondary schools in the Swansea area. We are looking for educators who can break down complex numerical concepts, improve functional numeracy, and prepare students for their exams across all ability ranges.
We have opportunities for:

Key Stage 3: Building core numeracy skills and confidence in younger students.

Key Stage 4 (GCSE): Teaching across the Foundation, Intermediate, and Higher tiers (WJEC specifications).

Key Stage 5: Specialists capable of teaching A-Level Mathematics and Further Maths (highly desirable).

Intervention: Small group tuition to support students needing extra help with "closing the gap" in numeracy.
Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver structured lessons that develop fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

Differentiation: Adapt teaching methods to suit mixed-ability classes, ensuring both support for struggling learners and challenge for high achievers.

Exam Preparation: Prepare students for GCSE numeracy and mathematics exams, focusing on exam technique and past papers.

Assessment: Mark work regularly, providing clear feedback on calculation steps and methodology.

Engagement: Use real-world examples to demonstrate the relevance of mathematics in daily life.
Requirements

Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

Degree: A relevant degree in Mathematics or a highly numerate subject (e.g., Engineering, Economics, Physics).

Experience: Experience teaching Mathematics within the UK curriculum up to KS4.

Registration: Must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) as a School Teacher.

Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Vetro can assist with a new application if required).
