Job Description:
Are you a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker looking for flexible agency work between home and shifts in Bargoed? Join a supportive team providing care, treatment, and rehabilitation for adults with severe and enduring mental illness in a low secure/locked ward environment. This Mental Health Support Worker role in Bargoed offers up to £27.36 per hour (PAYE), with days, nights, and weekends available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support trained nurses in delivering direct care for patients as part of a wider clinical team in Bargoed
- Provide therapeutic care and support, ensuring patients are treated with dignity, compassion, and honesty
- Observe, monitor, and record patient conditions accurately
- Work with a team including Sisters and a dedicated unit manager to maintain safe, person-centred care
- Contribute to rehabilitation and recovery-focused support within the service
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months UK experience within an acute mental health setting (required for this Mental Health Support Worker role in Bargoed)
- Practical Manual Handling and BILD Accredited TMVA training (or willingness to complete as required)
- Must be a UK resident and have the right to work in the UK
- Driving Licence and your own vehicle are a must for this Mental Health Support Worker position in Bargoed
- Must be registered with Social Care Wales
- Availability for days, nights, and weekends
