Job Description:
A Secondary School Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) opportunity is available in Caerphilly, Caerphilly County Borough, starting September 2026. Our client is seeking dedicated NQTs across Caerphilly secondary schools, welcoming all subject specialisms. You’ll be supported throughout your induction year with guidance from a designated NQT mentor.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Secondary School Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) based in Caerphilly, your daily duties will include:
- Leading learning across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 classes.
- Preparing classrooms for lessons and planning schemes of work where required.
- Delivering engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum, including classroom and lab-based activities where appropriate.
- Following the school’s behaviour management policies and maintaining a positive learning environment.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Secondary School Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT), you will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or an overseas equivalent).
- EWC registration (Education Workforce Council) as a Teacher (support available to obtain this).
- Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
- References covering the last two years (with no gaps).
- Right to work in the UK.
