Job Title: Operations Manager – Children’s Residential Care Homes
Location: North West (Preston, Lancaster & South Yorkshire), United Kingdom
Salary: Up to £65,000 + car allowance + welcome and performance bonuses up to £13,000 (DOE)

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations across a portfolio of children’s residential care homes in the North West. This Operations Manager role covers homes in Preston, Lancaster and South Yorkshire, with all open homes currently rated GOOD by OFSTED. You will work closely with the SMT to ensure services are safe, effective and fully compliant, while supporting Registered Managers and driving continuous improvement. The Operations Manager position also includes responsibility for opening a new home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee operations across 4 children’s residential care homes as an Operations Manager
  • Ensure homes in Preston, Lancaster and South Yorkshire are safe, effective and compliant as an Operations Manager
  • Work with the SMT to maintain high standards and support the successful opening of a new home
  • Ensure all homes meet relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Line manage Registered Managers and provide leadership, coaching and performance support
  • Oversee external monitoring of practice within the homes
  • Lead on safeguarding concerns and ensure robust escalation and reporting processes
  • Lead on management recruitment, supporting in-house recruitment and staff development
  • Manage budgets and contribute to operational planning and performance

Requirements:

  • Full driving licence
  • Level 5 qualification in leadership and management
  • Open to Operations Managers or Registered Managers
  • LD experience is essential
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage compliance and drive quality improvements across residential services
