Key Responsibilities:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant based in Cardiff, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting the class teacher in daily classroom activities and lesson delivery
- Promoting inclusion and acceptance of all pupils, encouraging independence
- Assisting pupils with speech, communication, and language difficulties
- Supporting pupils with autism spectrum condition, severe learning difficulties, and physical or medical needs
- Fostering a positive and nurturing environment that prioritises pupil wellbeing
- Contributing to personalised care and support plans for pupils with additional needs
- Helping develop pupils’ social skills and confidence through engaging activities
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to individual pupil needs
- Enthusiastic, patient, and committed to supporting inclusive education
- Flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting pupils’ development
