Job Description:
Are you a dedicated and experienced social worker passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children, young people, and families? Join a leading specialist provider committed to delivering expert education and care for children and young adults with complex needs, including learning disabilities, sensory impairments, autism, and communication disorders. This is a full-time, permanent position based on a single-site in Cheadle, offering a meaningful opportunity to lead safeguarding initiatives and support vulnerable communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead complex safeguarding casework for children, young people, and adults at risk, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and carers.
- Prioritize safeguarding by effectively evaluating risk and protective factors to manage cases safely.
- Develop and deliver projects and initiatives to enhance safeguarding knowledge among staff and service users.
- Provide support, training, and guidance to staff, families, and carers to promote best safeguarding practices.
- Work closely with the Head of Safeguarding to implement the Safeguarding Development and Improvement plan.
- Uphold Social Work England Professional Standards with integrity and professionalism.
- Mentor and support social work students on placement to foster future talent in safeguarding and social care.
What You'll Need:
- A professional Social Work qualification (Degree or DipSW) – essential.
- Proven experience in safeguarding within social care, education, or health settings, with knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Strong track record in safeguarding casework involving children, adults at risk, and their families.
- Experience with Mental Capacity Act 2005 assessments and best interest procedures.
- Knowledge of statutory safeguarding procedures for children and adults, supported by CPD or relevant qualifications.
- Ability to manage complex cases efficiently and engage effectively with multidisciplinary professionals.
- Excellent relationship-building and high-standard decision-making skills.
- Strong organisational and time management capabilities.
