Job Title: Qualified Teacher – Children’s Residential Education (EBD)
Location: Penygraig, RCT 
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum 
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified teacher to join a leading specialist provider in delivering bespoke education within a children’s residential setting. This role is ideal for educators seeking a rewarding alternative to traditional classrooms, focusing on small group teaching and relationship-based, trauma-informed education for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The qualified teacher will work in a supportive environment, fostering emotional regulation and personal growth for two boys aged 10–11, in a flexible and creative setting that values innovation and child-centred approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored, trauma-informed education to children with EBD in a residential setting
  • Foster emotional regulation and social development through relationship-based teaching
  • Create engaging, flexible learning experiences outside traditional classroom environments
  • Support the emotional and behavioural needs of children aged 10–11 in a small group setting
  • Collaborate with colleagues and caregivers to ensure a holistic approach to each child's development

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Passionate about working with children with EBD or SEMH needs
  • Creative, adaptable, and flexible teaching approach
  • Knowledge or interest in trauma-informed practice
  • Experience in alternative provision, SEN, EBD, SEMH, PRUs, or residential settings is desirable but not essential
