  • Manage the financial viability of the fostering service, aligning with the organisation’s aims and objectives.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to Fostering Regulations 2011, including Schedule 6 & 7 requirements.
  • Drive safeguarding policies and ensure accurate record-keeping of allegations and investigations, reporting to Ofsted and LADO as required.
  • Produce and present monthly and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders, including Ofsted.
  • Maintain a child-centred approach, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child in the service.
  • Work closely with the Operations Director, Deputy Operations Director, and Heads of Service to develop and improve regional fostering services.
  • Participate in the on-call rota to support out-of-hours safeguarding and operational issues.

Requirements:

  • Recognised and accredited social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience managing fostering services for at least two years within the last five years.
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills, including recruitment, supervision, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Excellent communication, administrative, and report-writing skills.

  • Willingness to undertake NVQ Level 5 in Leadership.
  • High literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with Local Authorities and other partners.

Laura was very straight and not promising the world.

She was helpful and responsive and actually found me some work. I have met many others recently and been totally uninspired by them. I have already recommended Vetro to another friend.

Laura went over and beyond and actively worked hard to make sure we found someone who would be suited...

I could see that the applicants sent over, a lot of thought went into it from Laura.

It wasn’t any first candidate or someone who has been sitting on your books for ages being pushed onto us.
