Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a specialised 2-bedded children's home in Newmarket. This home is part of a wider specialist site providing Mental Health Services for young people aged 12–18 who face significant challenges, including mental illness and high risks of self-injurious behaviours.
As the Registered Manager, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team alongside an on-site clinical team and educators. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality, therapeutic care that supports young people through their recovery and toward successful transitions.

Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (DOE).

Welcome Bonus: £5,000 bonus paid upon registration.

Performance Bonus: Up to £10,000 annual quality and commercial bonus.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Ofsted Excellence: Maintain a home rated at least “Good” by Ofsted by establishing and monitoring high-quality care standards in line with the Home’s Statement of Purpose.

Clinical Collaboration: Work within a specialist mental health framework, ideally utilising knowledge of the Mental Health Act to support children with complex emotional needs.

Care Planning: Develop tailored plans addressing the educational, social, therapeutic, and health needs of each young person.

Team Leadership: Recruit, induct, and develop a strong team. Create personal development plans and foster a culture of retention to ensure stability for the children.

Safeguarding & Advocacy: Act as the lead for complaints and child protection concerns. Develop systems to ensure young people are consulted about their care.

Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with parents, carers, social workers, and health professionals to promote the welfare of the children.

Commercial Management: Manage the home effectively in alignment with budget expectations and commercial targets.
Essential Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a residential care setting for children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.

Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Care is essential. A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management is preferred (or must be started within 6 months of employment).

Specialist Knowledge: Strong understanding of trauma, SCCIF, and the needs of children with significant behavioural and emotional difficulties.

Skills: Proficient in budget control, resource allocation, and professional communication.

Licence: A Full UK Driving Licence is required.
