Job Title: Ofsted Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home (EBD) – London

Salary: From £54,000 (negotiable depending on experience and qualifications)
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Ofsted Registered Manager to lead the launch and operation of two brand-new children’s residential homes supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Based in London, the Ofsted Registered Manager will oversee the establishment of both homes, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and compliance from day one. This role offers a unique chance to shape a new service, build a dedicated team, and make a positive impact on young lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the registration and compliance process for both homes in line with Ofsted and relevant regulations
- Oversee the full setup, including policies, procedures, staffing, recruitment, training, and operational readiness
- Build and develop a high-performing, stable staff team through supervision, coaching, and performance management
- Foster a strong safeguarding culture and ensure high-quality practice across all shifts
- Maintain robust systems for care planning, placement matching, risk management, and behaviour support
- Manage incidents, investigations, and learning outcomes, embedding reflective practice
- Drive quality assurance through audits, action plans, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop effective relationships with commissioners, local authorities, families, and partner agencies
- Maintain inspection-ready standards and confidently lead through Ofsted inspections
Requirements:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience within an Ofsted-regulated children’s home
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, quality standards, and regulatory expectations
- Proven leadership skills with resilience to manage a fast-paced start-up environment
- Desirable: Full UK driving licence (strongly favourable)
- Desirable: Experience launching new services or stabilising existing homes
