Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home in Thatcham. The Registered Manager will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality care that meets and exceeds regulatory standards. The Registered Manager in this position will oversee all aspects of the service, including compliance, team management, financial sustainability, and the well-being of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the home operates in full compliance with all statutory and legislative requirements, including Children’s Homes Regulations and Health and Safety standards.
- Implement and maintain robust quality assurance practices to monitor and improve service delivery.
- Manage the budget effectively, ensuring financial sustainability and proper resource allocation.
- Recruit, develop, and motivate a high-performing team, fostering a positive and engaging workplace culture.
- Oversee staff supervision, appraisals, and manage people-related issues such as discipline and absence.
- Ensure the safety, care, and well-being of young people, promoting their social, emotional, and physical development.
- Work collaboratively with young people, families, and external agencies to support positive outcomes.
- Arrange admissions and ensure appropriate medical and ancillary care for residents.
Requirements:
- Qualification: Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care for Children and Young People or equivalent.
- Registration: Must have completed the full registration process and been declared fit by OFSTED.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a managerial role within a children’s residential setting.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations, Health and Safety legislation, and safeguarding procedures.
- Skills: Proven leadership, team management, organisational, and financial management skills.
