Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a specialised 2-bedded children's residential home in Newmarket. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional seeking to make a meaningful impact within a mental health-focused environment. The Registered Manager will oversee the delivery of high-quality, therapeutic care for young people aged 12–18 facing significant emotional and behavioural challenges. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure the home maintains excellent standards of care, supports recovery, and promotes positive transitions for the young people in your care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a home rated at least “Good” by Ofsted by establishing and monitoring high-quality care standards in line with the Statement of Purpose.
- Collaborate with clinical teams and utilise knowledge of the Mental Health Act to support children with complex emotional needs.
- Develop tailored care plans addressing educational, social, therapeutic, and health needs.
- Recruit, induct, and develop a strong, stable team, fostering a culture of personal growth and retention.
- Lead safeguarding and child protection efforts, acting as the primary point for complaints and concerns.
- Engage with stakeholders including parents, carers, social workers, and health professionals to promote the welfare of young people.
- Manage the home effectively, ensuring alignment with budget and commercial targets.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a residential care setting for children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
- Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care is essential.
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management is preferred (or must be started within 6 months of employment).
- Strong understanding of trauma, SCCIF, and the needs of children with behavioural and emotional difficulties.
- Proficient in budget control, resource allocation, and professional communication.
- Full UK Driving Licence is required.
