The Opportunity:

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a high-caliber Registered Manager to take ownership of a specialist EBD (Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties) service in the historic market town of Abingdon. Key Responsibilities

  • Ofsted Registration: Assume full legal accountability as the Registered Manager, ensuring the home operates in total compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.

  • Culture & Mentorship: Cultivate a high-performing, resilient care team through regular supervision, clinical support, and professional development.

  • Safeguarding Excellence: Maintain a robust safeguarding culture, ensuring all therapeutic interventions are safely managed and outcome-focused.

  • Professional Liaison: Act as a key ambassador for the service, building collaborative relationships with Oxfordshire County Council social workers, health professionals, and local families.


Candidate Requirements

  • Education: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.

  • Experience: Proven experience in a management or heavy supervisory capacity within an EBD children’s home.

  • Regulatory Expertise: A thorough knowledge of the Quality Standards and a history of leading services through successful Ofsted inspections.

  • Leadership Style: A calm, authoritative, and empathetic leader who can manage the complexities of a town-based service with professional ease.
