Job Title: Registered Manager – Children’s Residential (EBD)

Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead a specialist Children’s Residential service focused on Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in Wantage. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact within a supportive community setting, managing a home that prioritises stability, therapeutic care, and positive outcomes for young people. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop a resilient team, implement innovative care models, and work towards achieving an 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Registered Manager with Ofsted, ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate a multidisciplinary care team, fostering a culture of professional excellence and trauma-informed practice.
- Maintain a safety-first environment by ensuring safeguarding protocols are robust and audit-ready.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with local authorities, including Oxfordshire County Council, to facilitate cohesive care planning.
- Drive continuous improvement in service quality, staff development, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or nearing completion).
- Proven managerial success within a children’s residential EBD setting.
- In-depth knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks and a track record of positive regulatory outcomes.
- A compassionate, empathetic leadership style capable of managing complex care environments with professionalism and calmness.
