Job Description:
A leading specialist care provider in Spencers Wood is seeking an experienced and visionary Registered Manager to lead a dedicated Children’s Residential service specialising in Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is an excellent opportunity to oversee a modern, community-focused home that prioritises therapeutic approaches and high staffing ratios. The successful candidate will drive service excellence, aim for an 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating, and have a significant influence on the service’s strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the "Registered Person" for the Spencers Wood service, ensuring full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
- Recruit, supervise, and mentor a high-performing care team, fostering a culture of professional excellence and empathy.
- Implement and monitor internal quality audits to uphold safeguarding standards and therapeutic care.
- Build strong, professional relationships with local authorities in Reading, Wokingham, and West Berkshire.
- Lead the development and review of the home’s Statement of Purpose and therapeutic model.
Requirements:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (completed or nearing completion).
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a Children’s Residential (EBD) setting.
- Deep understanding of the Quality Standards and a successful track record with Ofsted inspections.
- Genuine passion for improving the lives of vulnerable young people.
