This role is ideal for a compassionate leader who values a semi-rural environment while maintaining strong links to professional hubs such as Reading and Henley. As the Registered Manager, you will oversee a service that promotes a family-like atmosphere, with the autonomy to implement therapeutic models tailored to a smaller, community-focused setting. The position offers the chance to achieve an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating through long-term stability and high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Registered Person, ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
- Foster a stable, motivated staff team through regular supervision and training.
- Oversee the delivery of personalised care plans, supporting young people to reach their full potential.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities in Berkshire and Oxfordshire, as well as educational and health professionals.
Requirements:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Proven management or supervisory experience within a children’s EBD residential setting.
- Strong understanding of the Quality Standards and successful interactions with Ofsted inspectors.
- Resilient, compassionate leadership qualities with a passion for advocating for young people in care.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £57,500 – £72,000, reflecting the responsibility of managing a specialist service.
- Supportive, community-integrated work environment in a peaceful village setting.
- Access to high-level professional development and clinical supervision to stay at the forefront of residential childcare.
- Work-life balance in a calm environment that reduces the pressures typical of urban units.
