Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and strategic Registered Manager to lead a specialist Children’s Residential service focused on Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in High Wycombe. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact within a high-profile setting, overseeing a service that combines safeguarding with innovative, therapeutic care. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a multidisciplinary team, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a trauma-informed environment that supports young people’s emotional and behavioural development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hold legal accountability as the Registered Manager, ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
- Lead a team in delivering trauma-informed, therapeutic care tailored to young people with complex needs.
- Oversee daily operational management, including recruitment, budgeting, and safeguarding protocols.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, police, and mental health services to ensure comprehensive support for residents.
- Drive continuous improvement to achieve and maintain Ofsted ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ ratings.
Requirements:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Proven success as a Registered Manager or Deputy within an EBD children’s residential setting.
- In-depth knowledge of the Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF) and regulatory compliance.
- Resilient, professional, and capable of navigating the complexities of urban residential care environments.
