Job Title: Registered Manager – Ofsted Children's Home
Location: Lymington, Hampshire

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead and oversee an Ofsted-registered children's home. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, child-centred care that meets all regulatory standards and promotes positive outcomes for children and young people. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children within a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership and oversight of all operations within the children's home.
- Ensure the home consistently meets Ofsted requirements and achieves at least a 'Good' rating.
- Lead, recruit, supervise, and develop a team of care staff and key workers.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe environment where children feel supported and empowered.
- Maintain compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and relevant legislation.
- Develop and implement tailored care plans for each child, working collaboratively with social workers, healthcare professionals, and families.
- Monitor and evaluate outcomes for children, ensuring they receive appropriate support to reach their full potential.
- Manage the home’s budget effectively, ensuring resources are used efficiently to meet children’s needs.
- Complete and submit all required reports and notifications to Ofsted and other regulatory bodies.
- Handle safeguarding concerns appropriately, liaising with the designated safeguarding lead (DSL).
Requirements:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a residential setting within the last 5 years.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and Ofsted regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to register as a manager with Ofsted.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Resilient, emotionally intelligent, and committed to child-centred practice.
- Valid UK driving licence (desirable).
- Experience of managing a home to a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating (desirable).
- Therapeutic care experience or training (desirable).
