Job Description
We are recruiting a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential Home) to lead a child-centred service in Nuneaton, West Midlands.
Based in Nuneaton, you will provide strong operational leadership, ensure outstanding safeguarding practice, and drive continuous improvement to deliver safe, nurturing care for young people.
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential Home) based in Nuneaton your daily duties will include:
- Maintaining active Ofsted/CIW registration as the designated manager and leading the home through inspections in Nuneaton.
- Ensuring full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards, embedding a safe, rights-based, anti-discriminatory culture.
- Leading continuous improvement through self-audits, quality-of-care reviews, and clear action plans.
- Recruiting, supervising, mentoring, and appraising staff, including oversight of rotas, safe staffing levels, and on-call arrangements.
- Overseeing placement plans, risk assessments, and individualised care pathways, acting as the safeguarding escalation point.
- Coordinating multi-agency working with social workers, health professionals, education providers, and police.
- Managing budgets, resources, admissions/referrals, and ensuring the home is maintained to a high domestic standard.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential Home), you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or be enrolled to achieve it within agreed statutory timescales.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting for children/young people within the last 5 years.
- At least 1 year of formal supervisory/management experience in a care environment.
- Strong working knowledge of the Children’s Act, Children’s Homes Regulations, and safeguarding.
