Job Description
Registered Children's Home Manager opportunity based in Ilminster, Somerset. You’ll lead a new, trauma-informed children’s home, setting high standards of care while developing a confident, skilled team focused on positive outcomes for young people.
You’ll join an innovative, multi-agency service with access to wider professional support, including clinical supervision and collaboration across a multidisciplinary network.
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Children's Home Manager based in Ilminster, your daily duties will include:
- Leading and developing a residential care team through coaching, training, and performance management to deliver consistent, child-centred care
- Ensuring the home operates in line with Children’s Homes Regulations, safeguarding standards, and Ofsted expectations, maintaining strong compliance and quality assurance
- Working closely with the Responsible Individual and partner professionals to deliver therapeutic, trauma-informed support and achieve measurable outcomes for children and young people
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Registered Children's Home Manager, you will need:
- QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
- At least 2 years’ recent experience in a supervisory or management role within a Registered Children’s Home
- Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes legislation, safeguarding, and Ofsted frameworks
- Full UK Driving Licence (required)
- Enhanced DBS check (required; funded by our client)
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
