Job Description
Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD) opportunities are available in Newbury, Berkshire, with a specialist children’s residential provider supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). You’ll lead a dedicated care team, embed therapeutic practice, and drive high-quality outcomes with a clear focus on achieving strong Ofsted results.
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD) based in Newbury, your daily duties will include:
- Taking full accountability as the Ofsted Registered Manager, ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards
- Leading the day-to-day operation of an EBD children’s home in Newbury, maintaining excellent safeguarding, care quality, and staff practice
- Recruiting, mentoring, and developing a multidisciplinary team, promoting consistent performance and professional growth across Newbury
- Creating and overseeing therapeutic care plans that deliver measurable progress for young people
- Building effective relationships with local authorities and partner professionals across the wider Berkshire area
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD), you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or nearing completion)
- Proven supervisory/management experience within a Children’s Residential (EBD) setting
- Strong working knowledge of Ofsted inspections and the Quality Standards
- Ability to lead a service in Newbury and travel within the Berkshire region as required
