Job Description
Registered Manager (Children’s Residential – EBD) required for a specialist children’s home in Thame, Oxfordshire. This is an opportunity to lead a therapeutic, community-focused service supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), with a clear focus on quality, stability, and strong outcomes.
You’ll take ownership of standards, culture, and performance, with the autonomy to shape practice and drive towards Outstanding.
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential – EBD) based in Thame, your daily duties will include:
- Acting as the Ofsted Registered Manager, ensuring full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
- Leading, supervising, and developing a stable staff team, embedding trauma-informed and clinically-led practice across the home in Thame
- Overseeing safeguarding, care planning, and quality assurance to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery for every young person
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities and partner agencies across the region
- Driving service improvement, inspection readiness, and positive outcomes aligned to the SCCIF
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential – EBD), you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Proven management experience within a children’s residential EBD setting
- Strong working knowledge of SCCIF and a track record of achieving positive inspection outcomes
- A resilient, professional leadership style with excellent communication and decision-making skills
