Job Description
Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD) required for a specialist children’s home in Spencers Wood, Berkshire. This is an opportunity to lead a high-staffing, therapeutic service supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), with a clear focus on achieving an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted outcome.
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD) based in Spencers Wood, your daily duties will include:
- Acting as the Registered Person, ensuring full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and associated guidance.
- Leading, recruiting, supervising, and developing a high-performing residential care team to deliver safe, consistent, and therapeutic care.
- Driving service quality through audits, safeguarding oversight, and quality assurance, embedding the Quality Standards across the home.
- Building effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities and external professionals.
- Shaping and maintaining the home’s Statement of Purpose, ensuring practice aligns with the therapeutic model and young people’s outcomes.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD), you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (completed or near completion).
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a Children’s Residential (EBD) setting.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted frameworks, the Quality Standards, and evidence of positive inspection outcomes.
- A clear commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
