Job Description
Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD) required for a specialist children’s home in Winnersh, Berkshire. This is an opportunity to lead a modern, therapeutic service supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), with a strong focus on stability, outcomes, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD) based in Winnersh, your daily duties will include:
- Taking full legal and operational responsibility for the home, ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards
- Embedding a consistent therapeutic culture, implementing evidence-based approaches for young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs
- Managing staffing, rotas, resources, and budgets to maintain a safe, nurturing, and high-performing environment in Winnersh
- Leading, coaching, and developing the team to improve retention and reduce reliance on agency staffing
- Building effective working relationships with local authority commissioners and social work teams across the local area
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD), you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (essential)
- Proven management experience within a children’s residential EBD setting, with a track record of developing teams
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted expectations, inspections, and regulatory compliance
- A resilient, empathetic leadership style suited to the demands of residential childcare
