Job Description
Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD) required for a specialist children’s home in Sonning Common, Berkshire. This is an opportunity to lead a smaller, community-integrated service with a strong “family-feel” culture and a clear focus on stability, therapeutic practice, and achieving Outstanding outcomes.
You’ll have autonomy to shape the home’s approach while remaining well connected to professional networks across the local area.
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD) based in Sonning Common, your daily duties will include:
- Acting as the Registered Person, ensuring full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards
- Leading, coaching, and developing a stable staff team through supervision, training, and performance management within the home in Sonning Common
- Overseeing the delivery of individualised care plans and therapeutic support for young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
- Building effective working relationships with local authorities and partner professionals across Berkshire and Oxfordshire
- Driving continuous improvement and preparing the service for positive Ofsted outcomes
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD), you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Proven management/supervisory experience within a children’s residential EBD setting
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted expectations, the Quality Standards, and regulatory compliance
- A resilient, compassionate leadership style with a commitment to safeguarding and advocacy for young people in care
