Job Description:
Registered Manager (Children’s Residential – EBD) opportunity in Henley-on-Thames, Berkshire/Oxfordshire Border, leading a specialist children’s home supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is a senior leadership role focused on therapeutic, trauma-informed practice, strong safeguarding, and achieving the best possible outcomes within a community-integrated setting.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential – EBD) based in Henley-on-Thames, your daily duties will include:
- Taking full accountability for Ofsted registration and ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Recruiting, leading, supervising, and developing a stable staff team, embedding a culture of high performance and continuous improvement in Henley-on-Thames.
- Driving outstanding safeguarding and therapeutic care standards, supporting each young person’s wellbeing, progress, and pathway to independence.
- Representing the home in multi-agency and local authority meetings across the Berkshire/Oxfordshire border, ensuring coordinated support and effective partnership working.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential – EBD), you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (essential).
- Extensive leadership experience within an EBD children’s residential setting.
- Proven success with Ofsted inspections and strong working knowledge of the Quality Standards.
- Strong communication skills and the professional credibility to advocate effectively for young people.
