Job Description
Registered Manager (Children’s Residential – EBD) required for a specialist children’s home in Theale, Berkshire. This is an opportunity to lead a therapeutic, high-standard service supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), with a clear focus on achieving Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ outcomes.
You’ll provide confident operational leadership, embed best practice, and develop a stable, values-led team in a modern residential setting.
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential – EBD) based in Theale, your daily duties will include:
- Acting as the Registered Person, ensuring full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and associated guidance.
- Leading the day-to-day operation of a therapeutic EBD home, maintaining a safe, structured, and nurturing environment in Theale.
- Recruiting, supervising, coaching, and developing staff to deliver consistent, high-quality care and positive outcomes.
- Driving quality assurance against the Quality Standards, preparing for inspections and sustaining strong Ofsted performance.
- Building effective partnerships with local authorities, social workers, and external professionals across the region.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential – EBD), you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (completed or near completion).
- Proven leadership experience within a Children’s Residential (EBD) setting (supervisory or managerial level).
- Strong knowledge of Quality Standards and evidence of positive Ofsted outcomes.
- A clear commitment to safeguarding, therapeutic practice, and achieving the best outcomes for young people.
