A high-profile opportunity has arisen for a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential – EBD) to lead a specialist children’s home in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. This role suits a confident leader who can balance robust safeguarding with a modern, therapeutic approach in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential – EBD) based in High Wycombe, your daily duties will include:
- Holding Ofsted registration and legal accountability, ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015
- Leading a trauma-informed, therapeutic culture that supports young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)
- Managing day-to-day operations in High Wycombe, including staffing, recruitment, budgets, and safeguarding procedures
- Building effective partnerships with local stakeholders (including the local authority, police, and mental health services) to strengthen outcomes for young people
- Driving service quality and readiness for inspection, aiming for “Good” or “Outstanding” outcomes
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential – EBD), you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager within an EBD children’s residential setting
- Strong knowledge of SCCIF and evidence of positive regulatory outcomes
- The resilience and professionalism to lead calmly within a complex, high-demand environment
