Job Description
Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD) opportunity based in Cookham, Berkshire. Our client is a specialist children’s residential service supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), focused on delivering safe, nurturing, high-quality care within a community setting.
You’ll lead a stable home and multidisciplinary team, driving strong outcomes through trauma-informed and therapeutic practice.
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD) based in Cookham, your daily duties will include:
- Acting as the Ofsted Registered Manager, ensuring full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
- Leading, coaching, and developing a multidisciplinary staff team through high-quality supervision, performance management, and a culture of excellence
- Embedding a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach across care planning and daily practice to meet young people’s emotional and behavioural needs
- Building and maintaining effective partnerships with local authorities across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire to support placement stability and outcomes
- Driving service improvement and readiness for inspection, with a focus on achieving Good or Outstanding outcomes
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD), you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (completed or near completion)
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager, or a highly experienced Deputy Manager, within an EBD children’s residential setting
- Strong knowledge of the Ofsted inspection framework, with evidence of achieving Good/Outstanding standards
- A resilient, professional, and empathetic leadership style with a commitment to high-quality care
