Job Description
Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD) required for a specialist children’s home in Didcot, Oxfordshire. This is a leadership role within a therapeutic, trauma-informed setting supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), with strong links to local authority partners.
You’ll take full operational ownership of the service, building a resilient team and driving high standards of care and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD) based in Didcot, your daily duties will include:
- Holding Ofsted registration and ensuring full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
- Leading, coaching, and retaining a multidisciplinary team through effective supervision, training, and performance management
- Implementing and monitoring trauma-informed and therapeutic care plans to ensure a safe, structured environment for young people
- Managing safeguarding, incident response, and quality assurance to support strong inspection outcomes
- Working closely with Oxfordshire local authority stakeholders and partner agencies to support effective placement management
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD), you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (completed or near completion)
- Proven management experience within a children’s EBD residential setting
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted, the Quality Standards, and a track record of achieving ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ outcomes
- The drive to lead from the front, set high standards, and deliver measurable progress for vulnerable young people
