Job Description:
Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD) opportunity in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, leading a specialist children’s home supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is a senior leadership role focused on creating a stable, therapeutic, “home-from-home” environment and driving continuous improvement towards Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD) based in Wallingford, your daily duties will include:
- Holding full legal responsibility for the home, ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards
- Leading, supervising, and developing a stable staff team, embedding trauma-informed and therapeutic practice
- Completing audits, service reviews, and quality assurance activity to maintain inspection readiness and continuous improvement
- Building effective partnerships with local authorities and external professionals to support robust care planning and positive outcomes in Wallingford
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Registered Manager (Children’s Residential EBD), you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Proven management experience within a children’s residential EBD setting
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted expectations, with a track record of achieving Good or Outstanding outcomes
- A calm, grounded, and empathetic leadership style suited to the day-to-day complexities of residential childcare
