Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home in Newhaven, East Sussex. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance with regulatory frameworks. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a nurturing environment for young people and leading a committed staff team.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Manager based in Newhaven, East Sussex, your daily duties will include:
- Managing the day-to-day running of the home to ensure a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment.
- Leading, supervising, and developing the staff team to deliver high-quality care.
- Ensuring safeguarding procedures are effectively implemented and responded to appropriately.
- Maintaining compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and embedding the Quality Standards into practice.
- Preparing for and participating in Ofsted inspections and ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Working collaboratively with the Responsible Individual and Quality & Compliance Manager to support continuous improvement.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Registered Manager in Newhaven, East Sussex, you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
- Significant experience in children’s residential care, with a strong understanding of safeguarding and leadership.
- Proven ability to manage teams, drive service improvement, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted frameworks.
- Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS Check and relevant safeguarding training.
