Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Manager to lead the launch and operational management of a new children’s residential home in Harrow, Greater London. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a pioneering service dedicated to supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). As the founding manager, you will establish the home’s culture, team, and standards from the ground up, ensuring outstanding care and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Manager based in Harrow, your daily duties will include:
- Overseeing the full operational setup, including Ofsted registration and service commissioning.
- Recruiting, inducting, and mentoring a new care team to foster a positive, child-centred environment.
- Leading on care planning, risk assessments, and safeguarding protocols tailored to young people with EBD.
- Ensuring the service adheres to The Children’s Homes Regulations (2015), quality standards, and inspection frameworks.
- Building strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, health, and education professionals.
- Managing budgets, staff rotas, and administrative systems to ensure the home’s sustainability and high standards.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Registered Manager in Harrow, you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification).
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within a children’s residential home specialising in EBD.
- Deep understanding of Ofsted registration processes, inspection frameworks, and the Children’s Homes Regulations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in recruiting, training, and motivating high-performing teams.
