Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Manager to lead the launch of a new specialist children’s residential home in Woodstock, Oxfordshire. This role offers the chance to shape a pioneering 3-bed service supporting children and young people aged 6 to 17, within a beautiful semi-rural setting. You will be at the forefront of establishing a high-quality, therapeutic environment, backed by an experienced operational team.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Manager based in Woodstock, your daily duties will include:
- Setting up and leading the new service, including recruitment, mentoring, and developing a high-performing, child-centred team.
- Leading the registration process with Ofsted, ensuring full compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 to achieve a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' rating.
- Managing referrals and admissions, ensuring children and young people are matched to promote stability and positive outcomes.
- Collaborating with clinically trained staff to embed therapeutic practice across all aspects of care.
- Working closely with visiting clinical psychologists to review care plans and support staff development.
- Overseeing safeguarding procedures using digital safeguarding systems to maintain maximum safety and compliance.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Registered Manager in Woodstock, you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Proven leadership experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within an Ofsted-registered children’s residential home supporting children with EBD.
- In-depth knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks, safeguarding legislation, and therapeutic care principles.
- A Full UK Driving Licence due to the semi-rural location.
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset, resilience, and ambition to develop a flagship service.
