Salary: £55,000+ per annum (Negotiable depending on experience, competitive package)

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a new Children’s Residential home in Exeter, within the East Devon area. This role offers the opportunity to shape a therapeutic, nurturing environment for young people aged 7 to 17, within a high-specification, community-focused setting. The successful candidate will oversee the pre-registration process and establish a positive, trauma-informed culture from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Manager based in Exeter, your daily duties will include:

• Leading the Ofsted registration process for the new home and ensuring ongoing compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
• Establishing a nurturing, therapeutic environment that prioritises emotional safety, restorative practices, and trauma-informed care.
• Managing operational functions, including overseeing administrative processes, managing budgets, and delegating tasks effectively.
• Recruiting, mentoring, and developing a new staff team, embedding the organisation’s ethos and therapeutic approach.
• Embedding PACE principles (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) into daily routines to support young people with complex behaviours, minimising restraint and promoting positive outcomes.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Registered Manager in Exeter, you will need:

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or a strong track record with willingness to work towards it.
• Proven experience in a senior or managerial role within a residential children’s home.
• A trauma-informed, resilient approach to care, with a commitment to therapeutic practice.
• Strong organisational skills, including time management, administrative capabilities, and the ability to lead a team effectively.
