Job Title: Registered Manager – Children’s Home

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home located in Hyde, Tameside. This pivotal role involves providing effective day-to-day leadership within a nurturing, child-centred environment, ensuring high standards of care and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the home’s operation, working closely with the Responsible Individual to promote positive outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Manager, your daily duties will include:

• Leading and managing the home in accordance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
• Ensuring the safety, welfare, and individualised care of children and young people.
• Overseeing staff recruitment, supervision, training, and development to maintain a skilled and motivated team.
• Maintaining compliance with Ofsted requirements, including timely submissions of reports and notifications.
• Developing and implementing care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures to protect children from harm.
• Building strong relationships with children, families, local authorities, and external agencies to support positive outcomes.
• Managing the home’s resources and budget responsibly to support high-quality care delivery.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Registered Manager, you will need:

• A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• At least two years’ experience within the last five years in a residential care setting for children.
• Proven experience in supervising and managing staff in a care environment.
• Strong knowledge of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and associated statutory guidance.
• A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel as required.
• A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting children’s rights.
