Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Registered Manager to lead our established Ofsted-registered children’s homes in Much Hadham, Hertfordshire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape futures and make a meaningful difference by delivering outstanding care for children and young people with epilepsy, learning disabilities, autism, and diverse health needs within a beautiful rural setting.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Manager based in Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, your daily duties will include:
- Leading and managing an Ofsted-registered children’s home to ensure high standards of care and compliance.
- Managing and developing a team of Deputy Managers, Senior staff, and Care & Support Workers.
- Driving child-centred care that promotes independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.
- Acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead across both homes.
- Overseeing Ofsted inspections, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Building strong relationships with families, local authorities, and safeguarding partners.
- Managing operational budgets exceeding £1 million.
- Collaborating with education, therapy, nursing, and estates teams to provide integrated support.
- Contributing to strategic development across residential services.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Registered Manager, you will need:
- Proven experience managing an Ofsted-registered children’s home.
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Level 5 Leadership qualification is desirable or willingness to complete).
- Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
- A deep understanding of safeguarding and reflective leadership.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills.
- A compassionate, confident leadership style that inspires teams and promotes best practice.
