Job Description
An established care provider is seeking a dedicated Registered Manager | Children’s Residential (EBD) to lead a specialist service in Wantage, Oxfordshire. This role offers the opportunity to oversee a nurturing environment for young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties, within a community-focused setting that values stability and therapeutic care.
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Manager | Children’s Residential (EBD) based in Wantage, your daily duties will include:
- Ensuring the home consistently meets or exceeds the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, maintaining full regulatory compliance.
- Leading, supervising, and inspiring a multidisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care.
- Upholding a "safety-first" culture by implementing robust safeguarding protocols and preparing the service for internal and external audits.
- Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with local authorities and other stakeholders to support cohesive care planning.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Registered Manager | Children’s Residential (EBD), you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or nearing completion).
- Proven managerial success within a children’s residential EBD setting.
- A thorough understanding of the current Ofsted inspection framework and a track record of achieving positive regulatory outcomes.
- An empathetic, grounded leadership style capable of managing the complexities of residential care with professionalism and calmness.
