Our client is seeking an experienced and committed Registered Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of a children’s residential home.
This is an opportunity for an established Registered Manager, or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to take the next step, to lead a team and make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people.
The Role:
As Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the quality of care, safeguarding, staff development and regulatory compliance within the home.
We are looking for a confident and compassionate leader who can turn high standards into consistent everyday practice — ensuring staff understand their responsibilities, care plans reflect each young person’s individual needs, and the home provides a safe, nurturing and supportive environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Providing visible, compassionate and accountable leadership across the home.
-
Recruiting, developing and retaining a skilled and committed residential care team.
-
Creating a nurturing and therapeutic environment with clear, consistent boundaries and routines.
-
Leading safeguarding practice and ensuring concerns are identified, managed and escalated appropriately.
-
Overseeing individual care plans and risk assessments, ensuring they effectively support each young person.
-
Providing regular supervision, coaching and support to staff.
-
Building positive working relationships with families, social workers, placing authorities and other professionals.
-
Maintaining accurate records and monitoring the quality of care provided.
-
Identifying areas for improvement and driving continuous development across the home.
-
Ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and associated Quality Standards.
-
Preparing for and leading the home through Ofsted inspections.
-
Ensuring learning from inspections, incidents and feedback is embedded into day-to-day practice.
About You
You will ideally have previous management or deputy management experience within an Ofsted-regulated children’s residential setting, together with the confidence and ability to lead a team and take ownership of care quality.
You will ideally have:
-
A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or an accepted equivalent.
-
Strong knowledge of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
-
Experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) or similar complex needs.
-
Strong safeguarding knowledge and sound professional judgement around risk management.
-
Experience recruiting, developing, motivating and retaining staff.
-
The ability to build positive relationships with professionals, families and external agencies.
-
A genuine commitment to achieving and maintaining Good or Outstanding standards.
-
A leadership approach based on compassion, resilience, integrity and accountability.
If you’re passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people and are keen to become part of our client’s dedicated and professional team, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today to take the next step in your career.
