Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children’s Home Registered Manager to join a leading specialist provider managing a newly opened 5-bed Learning Disability home in Shrewsbury. This role offers a unique chance for a dedicated and experienced manager to lead a small but ambitious team in delivering high-quality care for children and young people with complex needs. The Children’s Home Registered Manager will have full autonomy to oversee the service’s operations, ensuring compliance with OFSTED standards and providing therapeutic, person-centred support. Key Responsibilities:
- Hold OFSTED registration and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards
- Manage and support a staff team of approximately 25, including deputy managers
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the children’s home, ensuring safety and quality of care
- Lead recruitment, staff development, and performance management
- Ensure the service offers therapeutic and holistic support tailored to children and young people with learning disabilities
- Maintain a safe, efficient, and well-managed environment
Requirements:
- NVQ or QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management (Children’s Services)
- NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Services
- Proven experience as a Children’s Home Registered Manager
- Extensive experience working within Learning Disabilities settings
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team
